Hmm, Overlord is not dark in it's truest sense, there is just too much comedy. Dunno about Torture Princess and GS novels.

Overlord is pretty dark if you really think about it though. It just gets played off a lot with the more comical elements.

Goblin Slayer is also very dark overall, but usually shown in brief bursts so it doesn't feel that overwhelmingly dark.

Torture Princess has a dark premise and a lot of dark parts, but also plays it off.

Nidome no Yuusha doesn't really play it off as much as the others.

@theredjet JNC did licence Grimgar which can be really dark, and Last and first idole is at time one of the darkest LN licence so far. I think Ao oni is also quite dark.
Nidome no Yuusha isn't that dark either so it doesn’t seem impossible

Do you like death, war and misery ?
Do you like badass op loli who let nobody got in their way ?
              Do you like vengeance story?
If so then then vote for The girl who ate a death god

Yeah, to me, Grimgar and Rokka are the darkest LN I've read.

Ao Oni too I suppose. Yume Nikki is more weird to me than dark, but I haven't read through it all.

If anyone looking for dark title I would checkout Another and Dungeon Seeker. Another is really well written and translated really a joy to read.
About Nidome no Yuusha its definitely edgy and dark even if the MC companion is a cute beast girl, and volume two features a cute loli victim. But I stopped reading it, it was not enjoyable for me having to read about a little girl being exploited.

Another is also available as a hardback

I think this is the first isekai novel I read that deals with the consequences of summoning from the perspective of our world and people who were left behind. And those consequences aren't pretty.

Usually I’m not too fond of revenge novels, but this one is really good. Upvote.
